I am writing to you on behalf of the Board of Regents of the Montana University System. The strategic plan of the system places renewed emphasis on outreach to the State of Montana and a commitment to working with others to develop solutions to the challenges and problems that we face as a State.

They have asked me to invite you to meet with them during their meeting on March 20-21 in Helena. The purpose of the meeting would be to prepare an inventory of the various challenges facing state government extending beyond higher education and higher education funding, and for a discussion of ways the board and the Montana University System can work with you in crafting solutions.
