ITEM 128-106-R0705  Approval of Proposal to undertake a study of whether to create a new medical school in Montana.

THAT: The Board of Regents directs the Commissioner to raise necessary funds and organize a study team to then evaluate whether Montana should create a medical school in the Montana University System.

EXPLANATION: The Board of Regents has been asked to undertake a study of whether it would be financially feasible and in the interest of the State to create a new medical school in the university system. Should the Board chose to do such a study, recommendations and conclusions will need to be prepared in advance of the 2007 general legislative session.
