This authority request is for an amount greater than $150,000 which requires the following additional information:
(a) Project Description:
The work performed under this authority involves renovating approximately 1,700 ft2 of space in two rooms in Montana Tech's Chemistry/Biology Building. These rooms are empty shells left unfinished because of a lack of funding in 1999 when the facility was totally remodeled. The space will be used to accommodate the interim home of the National Center for Health Care informatics and as laboratory/classroom/office space for Montana Tech's new degree in Health Care Informatics.

Project Total $225,000
This project will be financed with federal earmark funds granted to St. James Healthcare in Butte. The proposal for these funds was a joint effort by Montana Tech and St. James Healthcare for this purpose.
(c) Programs Served, Enrollment Data, Projected Enrollments:
The work completed under this authority is for the National Center for Health Care Informatics, the Health Care Informatics degree program lab and instructional needs, the College of Mathematics and Sciences, and the rest of campus as scheduling permits.
(d) Space Utilization Data
The work completed under this authority will provide space that is currently not available for use because it was left unfinished in the 1999 renovation of the facility.
(e) Projected Use for Available Residual Space
Once the National Center for Health Care Informatics is constructed, this space will be available to support the degree in Health Care Informatics, its affiliation with the National Center, and other general campus uses as necessary and appropriate.
(f) Projected O&M Costs and Proposed Funding Sources:
State funds will be used in support of O&M costs (primarily electricity and heating) from increased revenues resulting from the Health Care Informatics degree program.
