ITEM 123-1013-R0504    Naming the Science Complex the Charles H. Clapp Building; The University of Montana-Missoula


THAT: Consistent with Board of Regents' Policy 1004.1, Naming of Buildings, the Board of Regents of the Montana University System authorizes The University of Montana-Missoula to name the Science Complex the "Charles H. Clapp Building."

EXPLANATION: In 1971 the Science Complex building was dedicated to The University of Montana's fifth President, Charles Horace Clapp. The University would like to officially name this building the "Charles H. Clapp Building."

This naming request was taken to the Campus Committee for Facilities where it was presented, discussed and ultimately received unanimous approval.
