Roberts Rules requires a two-thirds vote to amend by-laws provisions; however, our bylaws only require a majority vote.  In addition, our bylaws require a unanimous consent for suspension of the rules while Robert's Rules indicates a two-thirds vote is standard. (See tinted page 46 of Robert's Rules, 10th edition, "MOTIONS WHICH REQUIRE A TWO-THIRDS VOTE").

Since our by-laws oblige us to follow Robert's Rules, the proposed by-laws change is proposed to have our by-laws conform to the two-thirds vote requirement stated in Robert's Rules.
