ITEM 114-2002-R0102��� ����������� Authorization to Replace Outdoor Track Facilities; Montana State University-Bozeman

THAT:�� ����������������������������������� Consistent with the provisions of MCA 18-2-102 (2b&c), the Board of Regents of Higher Education authorizes Montana State University-Bozeman to replace deteriorated outdoor track and field facilities at Montana State University-Bozeman.� The estimated cost for this project is $750,000.

EXPLANATION:����������������������� 1.�� MSU-Bozeman has committed to host the Big Sky Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the spring of 2003.

2.�� The existing outdoor track and field facilities have deteriorated to such condition that they are no longer safe for track and field event participants.� This project will remove the existing track, runways and aprons, and install new, properly graded facilities.

3.�� This project will be financed with a combination of non-appropriated funds, from Auxiliary Operations Revenue (Renewal and Replacement budget) in excess of debt service obligations and private donations.� This project will result in no new programs.

4.       This project requires the approval of the Board of Regents and the consent of the Governor.
