ITEM 112-1502-R0901 Professor Emeritus Status for Judith R. Brogan, Professor; Montana Tech of The University of Montana
THAT: Upon the occasion of the retirement of Judith R. Brogan, the students and faculty of Montana Tech of The University of Montana express gratitude for the years of dedicated and valued service to the College, the Business Department of the College of Technology, and the State of Montana by recommending that the Board of Regents of the Montana University System approve conferral of the rank of Professor Emeritus.
EXPLANATION: Graduating from Spokane s Kinman Business University in 1968, Professor Brogan received her Associate of Arts in Business in 1973, her Bachelor s Degree in Secondary Education with high honors in 1974, and her Master s Degree in Education in 1976--all from The University of Montana-Western.
In 1973, Professor Brogan began teaching Business at the Butte Vocational-Technical Center which later became the College of Technology of Montana Tech. She received tenure in 1977 and has served the school since by her continued development of computer classes.
A member of the Montana Vocational Association, Professor Brogan successfully wrote a Perkins Grant, as well as two Montana Tech Foundation Grants. She served as an authorized instructor for Ventura Desktop Publishing and developed her first on-line course in 1999.
Professor Brogan s innovative approach to teaching has inspired many students over the past 28 years. For these accomplishments, the faculty, staff, and students of Montana Tech of The University of Montana proudly recommend the commendation of the Board of Regents and the title, Professor Emeritus, for Professor Judith Brogan.
