ITEM 108-2005-R0700   Authorization to Expend Remaining Balance of Reverted Appropriation Funds to Renovate Anatomy Lab in Linfield Hall; Montana State University-Bozeman

THAT: The Board of Regents of Higher Education authorizes Montana State University - Bozeman to expend the remaining balance (less than $25,000 remaining) of FY95 and FY97 reverted appropriations to renovate a portion of the Anatomy Lab in Linfield Hall.

EXPLANATION: 1. The Board of Regents previously authorized the expenditure of $236,885.76 in reverted funds for the renovation of an under-graduate science class/lab in Lewis Hall. That project is now complete and there remains a reversion fund balance of less than $25,000.

2.             Many of the undergraduate class rooms, class/labs and support spaces on campus have badly deteriorated flooring, wall surfaces, lighting systems, lab benches, cabinetry and lab fixtures; insufficient lab and support utility services; inadequate ventilation; and code/life safety deficiencies.

3.              This project will address deferred maintenance and ventilation work in Linfield Anatomy Lab 122, using the remaining balance (less than $25,000) of MSU's reverted appropriation funds in accordance with Regent's Policy 901.6, and MCA 17-7-304.
