RE: MTAP Baker Grant Policy Revision

The formula for awarding the MTAP Baker Grant was developed in 1996 when the MTAP program was established. Since that time tuition, mandatory and class fees, and costs of books have risen steadily. The financial aid officers have asked that the formula for determining the MTAP Baker Grant award be revised to reflect these changes. I recommend that the formula be written in a general form to eliminate the need to bring the policy back to the Board of Regents any time there is a change in the maximum amount of the award. The proposed revised policy is attached.
