In May we approved a series of revised Information Technology Policies for the Montana University System. I recall that we amended the proposed IT policies to include a semi-annual review by the regents. I voted in favor of this item with the understanding and condition that the amendment of semi-annual review would be adhered to. Since there has been no such semi-annual review regarding amended ITEM 114-104-R0102, I place this item again before the board of regents for a vote to reaffirm this board's previous position of supporting a policy that infringes upon the privacy of students and citizens.

Montana's Constitution:

Article II, Sec. 10.  The right of individual privacy is essential to the well being of a free society and shall not be infringed without the showing of a compelling state interest.
