ITEM 102-1504-R0399  Approval of Proposal to Add a Bachelor of Science Degree in Software Engineering; Montana Tech of The University of Montana

THAT: The Board of Regents of Higher Education authorizes Montana Tech of The University of Montana to add a Bachelor of Science Degree in Software Engineering.

EXPLANATION: The software used in many computer applications has risen to a level of complexity requiring a new academic discipline to educate engineers to design software. This program, not duplicated in Montana or in adjacent states, will produce graduates who will maintain current systems and create the software of tomorrow.
