The MSU FY 10 federal initiatives request includes new proposals which are continuation for funding of programs but under different names.  What is the reason for this change?

  • As new terminology develops around research areas, especially terminology used regularly by federal agencies, campuses adjust language to match.  Also, the grant renewal process allows researchers to re-examine requests, redirect work, and tailor work to the needs and interests of the federal program.
