meals not included in orientation at a rate of

Campus specific Orientation Registration Instructions:
University of Montana: Choose “pay by check”. Students must register 2 weeks prior to orientation in order to be reimbursed. Those registering less than two weeks from orientation will be reimbursed after attendance at orientation is confirmed.
Montana State University: students need to either call Hilja to register by phone, 406-994-2827, or print the registration form and mail it in. Mailed in registration forms must be marked “GEAR UP”. Students must register 2 weeks prior to orientation in order to be reimbursed. Those registering less than two weeks from orientation will be reimbursed after attendance at orientation is confirmed.
Other Campuses: No orientation fee, GEAR UP will provide travel reimbursements for travel to attend an orientation event.
Montana Indian Education for All Conference
Montana Indian Education for All (MIEA) Conference focuses on celebrating lifelong learning, best practices, and innovation to ensure American Indian students at all levels of the educational system receive a high quality education that prepares them for whatever future they envision. The conference will take place from April 19th to 22nd in Missoula, Montana. This year's theme is "Counting Coup Through Education."
Quoting from the MIEA website: "The 2017 Montana Indian Education Association’s (MIEA) Annual Conference theme: Counting Coup Through Education is a call to action for students & their families, elders, educators and educational institutions to come together for the purpose of promoting and advancing equitable educational opportunities that acknowledge, affirm and include the rich cultural heritage of American Indian students in every aspect of the schooling experience." Montana GEAR UP Spring Planning Meeting
On April 25th and 26th GEAR UP teams from across Montana will convene in Helena Montana to develope and enhance their 4th Year IP and Budgets. If you plan on attending please complete the SPM Survey found HERE and on our home page. The Spring Planning Meeting (SPM) will be held at the Helena Great North Hotel. Click here for directions.
2017 Youth Leadership Summit
The Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) gives high school students the opportunity to identify and maximize their leadership skills, create a supportive national network of GEAR UP students, and receive the tools and training to make positive change happen in their communities and around the world.
The 2017 YLS will take place from July 16th to 19th in San Francisco, CA. Visit the NCCEP website to learn more about the conference.
The deadline to apply for the YLS is April 7th. The following application material is required:

2017 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference
The 2017 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference will be held from July 16-19th in San Francisco, CA. As in years past, we are encouraging GEAR UP professionals to submit applications to attend the conference. The application can be found here. From the NCCEP website, "The Annual Conference is a time to highlight and hear from GEAR UP grantees and partners whose effective and results-driven programming represents teachable moments and best-practices for attendees. If you, your team, partners, or collaborators have something you want to share with the GEAR UP community, consider completing the RFP for the Annual Conference. The online proposal submission deadline is: February 24, 2017."
