ITEM 124-2701-R0904��������������� Fire Suppression Systems in Residence Halls; Montana State University-Billings (for information only)

THAT:�������������������������������������� All student residences (Residence Halls & Family Housing) at MSU-B are protected by a fire suppression system.

EXPLANATION:����������������������� 1.���� None of the MSU-B Residence Halls (500+ students) were protected by any fire suppression systems.

 

2.���� In November 2003, the Board of Regents of Higher Education authorized MSU-Billings to install fire suppression systems at an estimated cost of $450,000.

3.���� The project was financed with funds from Auxiliary Operations Revenue� (Renewal and Replacement Budget) and General Operating Funds in excess of debt service obligations.

 

4.���� A fire suppression system was installed over the summer in both of the high-rise residence halls at a total cost of $340,000 and is complete and operational for the upcoming Fall semester.
