ITEM 104-1008-R0799 Increase Student Supplemental Medical Insurance Fee; The University of Montana-Missoula
THAT:
The Board of Regents of the Montana University System authorizes The University of Montana-Missoula, Western Montana College of The University of Montana, and Montana Tech of The University of Montana to assess a per semester insurance fee as represented on the matrix for the Student Medical Insurance program.EXPLANATION: All campuses listed participate in a joint insurance program which provides the same levels of medical insurance coverage to participating students. The insurance premium increase reflects significant increases in utilization (approximately 18 percent) and increased paid claims (approximately 18 percent) during the past 18 months. In addition, The University of Montana-Missoula assesses an administrative fee to provide direct, campus-based service to students enrolled in the Student Medical Insurance program. UM-Missoula provides a campus-based student insurance representative.
