State Leadership
State Leadership funds are jointly managed by the Office of the
Commissioner of Higher Education and the Office of Public Instruction.
As stipulated by the law, Montana designates 10% of the state allotment
for State Leadership activities. Of this 10%, $60,000 is allocated
for
a competitive grant used to prepare individuals for non-traditional
employment and .5% is used for individuals in state institutions. In conjunction
with the management of these funds, both offices conduct various
activities/programs to address both the required and permissive
uses of Perkins funds. Required uses include the assessment of technical education programs, integration
of academic and technical education, development and expansion of
technology and support of programs for special populations.
