Montana GEAR UP Student Leadership Academy

GEAR UP is excited to annouce the 3rd Annual Montana GEAR UP Student Leadership Academy. The Student Leadership Academy will be two days of engaging leadership training, team building activities, speakers, and a whole lot of fun! Students will arrive in Helena the evening of April 24th and leave Helena on the afternoon of April 26th. All meals and lodging during the training will be covered by Montana GEAR UP.

Montana College Access Network Conference

The Montana College Access Network (MCAN) Conference provides networking opportunities, educational updates, and presentations of best practices, all aimed increasing access to higher education for all Montanans. The conference will take place from March 27th throught March 29th and will be held at the Radison in Helena, Montana. For more information visit the MCAN website.

Montana School Counselor Association Spring Conference

The Montana School Counselor Association will be holding its spring conference on April 6 & 7 in Bozeman, Montana. This conference gives School Counselors opportunities to acquire new skills, learn about materials and services offered by other organizations, and connect with other School Counselors throughout the state of Montana. The conference theme is Agents of Change. The focus will be on the many ways school counselors effect change in students. Participants will walk away with concrete tools and strategies to add to their daily practice in schools. Montana Indian Education for All Conference

Montana Indian Education for All (MIEA) Conference focuses on celebrating lifelong learning, best practices, and innovation to ensure American Indian students at all levels of the educational system receive a high quality education that prepares them for whatever future they envision. The conference will take place from April 19th to 22nd in Missoula, Montana. This year's theme is "Counting Coup Through Education."

Quoting from the MIEA website: "The 2017 Montana Indian Education Association’s (MIEA) Annual Conference theme: Counting Coup Through Education is a call to action for students & their families, elders, educators and educational institutions to come together for the purpose of promoting and advancing equitable educational opportunities that acknowledge, affirm and include the rich cultural heritage of American Indian students in every aspect of the schooling experience." Montana GEAR UP Spring Planning Meeting

On April 25th and 26th GEAR UP teams from across Montana will convene in Helena Montana to develope and enhance their 4th Year IP and Budgets. If you plan on attending please complete the SPM Survey found HERE and on our home page.

2017 Youth Leadership Summit

The Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) gives high school students the opportunity to identify and maximize their leadership skills, create a supportive national network of GEAR UP students, and receive the tools and training to make positive change happen in their communities and around the world.

2017 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference

The 2017 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference will be held from July 16-19th in San Francisco, CA. As in years past, we are encouraging GEAR UP professionals to submit applications to attend the conference. The application can be found here. From the NCCEP website, "The Annual Conference is a time to highlight and hear from GEAR UP grantees and partners whose effective and results-driven programming represents teachable moments and best-practices for attendees. If you, your team, partners, or collaborators have something you want to share with the GEAR UP community, consider completing the RFP for the Annual Conference.
