System Overview
- The Montana University System (MUS) is comprised of two doctoral research universities, four master’s/baccalaureate level universities, two stand alone colleges of technology, and three community colleges. (See campus list)
- The MUS is governed by a Board of Regents appointed by the Governor.
- The Commissioner of Higher Education, Dr. Sheila Stearns, is the chief executive officer and appointed by the Montana Board of Regents.
- In 2006, the Montana Board of Regents adopted a comprehensive strategic plan.
