Report I
Restricted Credit Hours

Report I shows restricted credit hours by student level (undergraduate, graduate and residency status (resident, nonresident, and WUE). Restricted credits are removed from the final FTE enrollment figures used to generate state funding for the units of the Montana University System and the community colleges.

Restricted credit hours are those generated in any course or program for which instruction was funded by sources outside the institution's regular operating budget (current unrestricted). If instructional funding was prorated between current unrestricted and restricted funds, the student credit hours generated should be prorated also.

Credit hours generated by Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs are not considered restricted credit hours. Similarly, if an instructor’s salary is funded through an endowed chair or supplemented by private donation, the student credit hours generated by those funds are counted as unrestricted student credit hours.

This report does not apply to private colleges.
