Proposed Revisions to 940.11 - Motor Vehicle Registration Fees

Board policy:
The
presidents and
chancellors of the units campuses of
Montana University System are authorized to charge a motor vehicle registration
fee or vehicle parking fee, or both, subject to the following procedure.
Procedures:
1. The president or chancellor shall
submit to the Board of Regents a request to establish or increase such a
fee. The president shall include with
the request a description of the procedure by which the campus student
governance organization, the faculty and staff were consulted.
2. The Commissioner, on behalf of the
Board, will notify the governing board of the campus student body of the
proposed fee, and invite comment on the proposal.
3. Thereafter, the Board may reject, adopt
or modify the proposed fee, provided that any fee so established shall remain
in effect until modified or rescinded by the Board.
4. The monies received from the fee will be
used for the development and improvement of parking lots and to strengthen the
campus traffic control.
