720 - Community Colleges Personnel

1. Academic faculty. The minimum requirement for academic faculty at the community colleges shall be a master's degree in the teaching field or in a closely related academic discipline approved by the coordinator of community colleges. Faculty employed at the time of approval of this policy shall be considered exempt. Under extenuating circumstances, approval of the coordinator of community colleges must be obtained to temporarily employ faculty without the minimum qualifications.
2. Occupational faculty. Minimum qualifications for occupational faculty shall be three years' experience in the occupation to be taught. Faculty employed at the time of approval of this policy shall be considered exempt. Under extenuating circumstances, approval of the coordinator of community colleges must be obtained to temporarily employ faculty without the minimum qualifications.
3. Adult and community service faculty. Qualifications for adult and community service faculty shall be determined by the presidents of the community colleges.
