NOTICE OF INTENT:�������� Authorization to Create the Undergraduate Non-teaching Minor in Management of Information Technology; Montana State University-Bozeman
THAT: The Board of Regents of Higher Education authorizes Montana State University-Bozeman to award the Minor in Management of Information Technology.
EXPLANATION:����������������� The Minor in Management of Information Technology is provided to meet the needs of the dynamic marketplace for College of Business graduates.� Increasingly, potential employers are seeking employees who are skilled in the acquisition and implementation of changing computer and information technologies.� This minor will give students in accounting, finance, management and marketing the additional expertise needed to differentiate themselves in the job placement process.
The minor program objectives include:
� To provide perspectives, concepts, and tools to evaluate opportunities and challenges presented by changing information technology.
� To develop managerial skills to facilitate organizational change that accompanies adoption and implementation of new information technologies.
� To examine the linkages between information technology, business strategy, and creating competitive advantage.
