Exchange program grants from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of
Educational and Cultural Affairs
a) Environmental Research and Applied Technology – Montana Tech/National University of the Altiplano-Puno, Peru - $110,000 over three years.
b) Montana Tech Foreign Exchange Program – South America, Asia, South Pacific and Europe - $100,000 over two years.

Grants and Contract
expenditures in FY2000 totaled $5,510,000, the largest record G&C in the
campus history and represents a 1% increase over last year’s totals. From 1990 to present, this represents an
increase of 532% or 18%/year over the ten year period.
·
Completion of campus
rewiring funded from IT fee. At this
time Tech has 100 megabits available at every desktop and in every classroom.
·
Montana Tech tied for
third place in the new U.S. News & World Report as one of the best
public regional universities in the West.
·
Montana Tech once
again ranked in “The Princeton Review” in the 2001 Edition of The Best 331
Colleges.
·
1st Career
Fair – had 47 companies for all over the U.S. participate. Approximately 650 students participated in
this fair.
·
Montana Tech and The
University of Montana-Missoula are collaborating to develop a web-based
professional ethics course.
·
Montana Tech is
celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year.
·
The economic impact
of Montana Tech to the local economy is over $49 million.
