Dr. Janine Pease was appointed to the Board of Regents on June 5, 2006 by Governor Brian Schweitzer to complete the term of Regent Mike Foster who resigned from the Board for health reasons.

Dr. Pease is currently Vice President for Academic and Vocational Programs at Fort Peck Community College. Immediately prior to that she was Vice President for American Indian Affairs at Rocky Mountain College. She has also owned her own consulting firm, specializing in tribal colleges and universities program development and strategic planning.  Dr. Pease served as a senior program development specialist to the ACHEIN - A Life Long Learning Center for Native America, Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, to the American Indian College fund in a commissioned study on Native American language immersion, and to Sinte Gleska University for international indigenous higher education initiatives.  She was president of Little Big Horn College for 18 years.  Under the leadership of Dr. Pease, LBHC founded a two year college curriculum around the Crow Indian language, culture and knowledge.  She holds two bachelor's degrees from Central Washington University and masters and doctoral degrees from Montana State University.

Dr. Pease is the mother of two and the grandmother of three ranging from 6 years to 8 months.
