Montana's Quality Higher Education System

Montana University System Names Coordinator of Institutional Research

The Commissioner of Higher Education appointed Brad Eldredge, the chief economist for the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, to coordinate institutional research efforts for the Montana University System.

Higher Education Commissioner Sheila Stearns announced that Dr. Eldredge accepted the institutional research position recently vacated by now Associate Commissioner Tyler Trevor. “This is vital position to not only the Board of Regents and the Commissioner’s Office, but to the entire System,” stated Stearns.   The coordinator of institution research is responsible for managing and analyzing university system data and generating information to support strategic planning efforts, economic development endeavors, as well as state and federal reporting.  Stearns said, “We are fortunate to find someone with Brad’s expertise to fill such a critical position.”

Eldredge has worked for the Research and Analysis Bureau with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry since 2004, where, among other duties, he produced the state’s industry and occupational projections.  Eldredge earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brigham Young University and a doctorate in geography from State University of New York at Buffalo.

Brad will begin his new job at the Commissioner’s Office on September 5.
